The weave guide
The case is the part of the bed your face actually touches, and this range cuts it three ways. None of them is the best one. They answer different complaints.
Cotton sateen, the smooth classic
A sateen weave floats more threads on the surface, which is where the smooth face and slight sheen come from. The 500-thread-count cases here are the range's default answer: cool enough for most rooms, hot-washable, and they iron flat if you are the ironing kind. The trade is that sateen shows wear at the fold lines sooner than a plain weave.
Cooling weave, for the hot side of the pillow
The cooling cases move heat away from skin faster, so the first touch reads cold and stays cooler longer. Published sleep guidance keeps its claim modest, and so do we: a bedroom should be quiet, dark and at a temperature you find comfortable, and fabric helps with the last of those without doing the work of a thermostat.[1] If you flip the pillow for the cold side, this is your case.
Mulberry silk, for hair and friction
Silk's case rests on friction: hair and skin drag less across it than across cotton. The cases here are zippered mulberry silk, and they ask silk-grade care in return: cool gentle washes, no wringing, shade drying. We make no medical claims for silk, and anyone with a persistent skin concern should be guided by a clinician rather than a fabric.
