The pillow finder

There are three constructions in this range and they suit different necks. The picker below turns two questions into a recommendation, and the notes explain the reasoning so you can overrule it.

Pillow finder

Reasoned from construction, not from a lab: side sleepers need loft that lasts the night, stomach sleepers need the flattest option, and the guide below explains the logic so you can overrule it.

Why position decides fill

A side sleeper's head sits a shoulder-width above the mattress and needs loft that does not collapse by 3 a.m., which is where shredded memory foam earns its keep: the fill can be added or removed until the height is right, and it holds. A back sleeper wants a middle loft with give at the neck. A stomach sleeper needs the flattest, softest option in the range, because anything tall bends the neck upward all night.

The feel question

Fill decides feel more than firmness labels do. The down-alternative pair sleeps like a classic hotel pillow: light, springy, easy to scrunch. Shredded memory foam feels denser and moulds where it is pressed. The block foam pillow holds one shape all night and suits sleepers who wake up looking for the same support they fell asleep on.

When two kinds beat one

Households rarely sleep one way, which is what the mixed four-packs are for: two down alternative and two memory foam, sorted by whoever claims which side of the bed. It is also the honest answer for anyone genuinely unsure, at the cost of one pillow pair being second choice.
